Location

Where is the destination for the Lily of Killarney Watercoach?

The lake tour takes place on the Lakes of the Killarney with Ross Castle Pier as its departure point. Ross Castle is located just a five-minute drive or a short 20-minute walk from the town centre of Killarney.

What are the coordinates of the location?

Where does the Watercoach depart from?
The lake tour departs from the pier at Ross Castle.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is ample car and bus parking available on location.

Are there tea & coffee facilities onsite?

Yes, there is a small coffee shop in Ross Castle that serves tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks.

Bookings

Does the Watercoach Tour run all year around?

The Lily of Killarney Watercoach Tour runs daily with a variety of morning and afternoon sailing times from the 1st of April until the 30th of September each year. (From October to March, we operate sailings on group bookings.)

What are the sailing times?

The sailing times from the 1st of April to the 30th of September are 9.15am, 10.30am, 12.00pm, 1.45pm, 3.15pm and 4.30pm – all operating daily. These sailings may not operate if there are insufficient numbers so please prebook.

Do I need to pre-book tickets or can I buy tickets onboard?

Pre- booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment as our tours are very popular particularly in the high season with many sailing times being booked out well in advance.

How far in advance of my booking should I arrive?

You should arrive at the departure point (the pier at Ross Castle) at least ten minutes ahead of your scheduled departure time.

What do I need to bring with me as proof of my booking?

We will except a printed copy of your ticket and or a copy of your e-ticket on your phone or tablet as proof of your booking. Admission to the Watercoach will not be permitted if you do not have either of these two ticket solutions.

Do you take group bookings online?

Yes, we take group bookings online for up to 10 people. For a group of 11 people or more, please call us on 064 66 33358 or email us on info@lilyofkillarney.com

Do you cater for corporate and private bookings?

Yes, we cater for a range of corporate and private groups. Please phone us on 064 66 33358 or email us on info@lilyofkillarney.com to find out more about how we can tailor our tour to best suit your specific audience and event requirements.

The Watercoach

Are there toilet facilities onboard?

Yes, there is a small unisex toilet available onboard.

Is the Watercoach accessible for wheelchairs?

Unfortunately, due to the strict sizing regulations of the vessel in relation to operating in a protected area, the Watercoach is currently not wheelchair accessible.

Is there Wi-Fi available on board?

Yes, there is Wi-Fi available on board and you will be supplied with a code on arrival.

Do you allow dogs on board?

Yes, we allow small to medium size dogs only onboard. All dogs must be accompanied by their owner.

How long is the tour?

In total the tour is a 1-hour round trip.

Do you serve food or drink onboard?

No, we do not serve food or drink onboard, however we do allow the carry on of soft drinks by our guests, if they so wish, from the nearby shop at Ross Castle. Food is not permitted. (Both food & drink are however permitted on corporate or private sailings.)

Is it common to get seasickness aboard?

No, it is extremely uncommon to get seasickness onboard the Lily of Killarney Watercoach as the Tour is operated on Lakeland, which the sea, remains relatively calm all year around.

Does the tour cater for people who do not speak English?

The tour can be translated for both German and French Speakers through a tailored audio program, but this is only available for large group bookings – typically 20 people or more.

What will I learn about on the tour?

Our tour is designed to ensure you learn about the history and preservation of the Killarney National Park, its most famous landmarks and its wildlife whilst allowing enough quiet time to immerse yourself in the serenity of the Lakeland. Landmarks you will learn about include Ross Castle, Innisfallen Island, Muckross House and St. Mary’s Cathedral, to name a few.

Children

Is the Watercoach child-friendly?

Yes our Watercoach is child-friendly and we welcome children of all ages to join us on the tour.

What is the rate for Children?

All Children under the age of three go free. Thereafter the rate is €8.00

Can I bring a Buggy on board?

Yes, we allow buggies and prams onboard.

Do you have changing facilities on board?

There are no changing facilities on board

Cancellation & Refunds

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Our cancellation policy is very simple.

In the case of a complete no show with no prior notification, then the party is not entitled to any refund.

If the booking is cancelled within 24 hours before the tour start time, then the party is entitled to a 25% refund of the tour cost.

If the booking is cancelled within 24-48 hours prior to the tour start time, then the party is entitled to a 50% refund of the tour cost.

If the booking is cancelled within 2-5 days prior to the tour start date, then the party is entitled to a 75% refund of the tour cost.

If the booking is cancelled within 5 days or more prior to the tour start date, then the party is entitled to a full refund – however there will be a 5% refund charge on the party’s card.

What if there is particularly bad weather the day I am supposed to take the tour?

If there is bad weather on the day that you are due to take the tour, then we will do our utmost to notify you of the tour cancellation as soon as is possible. After that, we will do our very best to accommodate you on the next operating sailing or if preferred issue you with a full refund.
