Accessibility Statement
At the Lily of Killarney, we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.
We continuously work to improve the accessibility and usability of our website while adhering to relevant standards and guidelines.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
We have implemented the following measures to enhance accessibility:
Fully responsive design – Our website adapts to different screen sizes and devices.
Alt text for images – Descriptive alternative text is provided for all images.
Accessibility tools – Features for adjusting contrast, font sizes, and other settings.
Keyboard navigation – Content can be accessed and navigated using a keyboard.
Proper image naming – Images are labelled appropriately for clarity.
Structured headings – Correct heading styles are used to organise content for readability.
Accessible content management system – Our CMS is designed to support accessibility best practices.
Thoughtful colour usage – We ensure sufficient colour contrast for readability.
Accessible forms – Forms are designed to be user-friendly and navigable.
Areas for Improvement
Our website is not yet fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 due to the use of certain third-party WordPress plugins that have not yet been updated to meet these standards. However, this does not significantly impact the general accessibility of the site.
As soon as these plugins are updated by their developers to meet WCAG 2.1 and future WCAG 2.2 standards, we will implement the necessary updates to ensure full compliance.
